Fine art is defined as “a visual art considered to have been created primarily for aesthetic and intellectual purposes and judged for its beauty and meaningfulness, specifically, painting, sculpture, drawing, watercolor, graphics, and architecture.” As with most Forensic Artists, we tend to be right brain dominant – “Right-brainers can be disorganised, unpredictable and more often than not, very good with people. They are spontaneous, creative and more emotional than left-brainers, often pondering and acting on their feelings. They are intuitive, good at problem solving and more comfortable with the unknown.” Of course, there are many wonderful Forensic Artists who are both left and right brained – that is a great attribute if you can reel it in. Either way, as artists, we must do something to satisfy that creativity urge or true happiness or satisfaction will not occur.
There are times when I must do a drawing, or a piece of art for ME, not commissioned, not requested, just something that you feel passionate about – does the sole good. Below are a few samples of work done outside of the Forensic Art realm. It’s always a good idea to see how far you can push your skills.
